Newberg, Oregon

We're excited to meet you!

Here at Chehalem Valley Church, we are a church for the Valley. We are a church in Newberg, Oregon.

Our purpose

Our purpose

“Building a local community of healthy, fruitful Christ followers who are committed to the outworking of the gospel in our community and beyond.”

What we're about

Four things that shape us

Discipleship

Engaging in intentional relationships with other believers, challenging and encouraging myself, and each other to be more like Christ.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Matthew 28:18–20

Prayer

We pray because God hears and answers. Therefore, prayer is our first and natural response. My voice is heard in Heaven and Heaven's voice is heard on earth. My thoughts, words, fears, and desires are reframed through Heaven's lens until His Kingdom comes and His will is done in my life.

Pray without ceasing. My house shall be a house of prayer... How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 · Isaiah 56:7 · Genesis 28:17

Growth

As Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man, so we commit to grow in Godly wisdom, integrity, character, capacity, and influence.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.

Luke 2:52

Relationship

We are created to build meaningful relationships with others by engaging and being known in community. We rise above our temperament or personality, overcoming hurts or broken relationships. Growth, Discipleship, and Prayer happen in the context of meaningful relationship.

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

John 13:35

Community

An all-inclusive church

This means that our mission is to be a part of the community and affect change for the better everywhere we go! It also means we are an all-inclusive church. We care about each person that walks through our doors and cultivate community everywhere we go.

What we believe

Core beliefs

2/ In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God; we believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His victorious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His constant intercession and in His imminent return.

3. The Holy Spirit and the Bible

3/ In the person and work of the Holy Spirit with His fruits and gifts available in the Church; The Bible is the living word of God. It is infallible, authoritative and everlasting and is the foundation of all Christian doctrine.

4/ In the existence of an evil spiritual being known as the devil.

5. The new birth

5/ In the spiritually lost condition of all people and the essential need for the new birth by faith in Jesus Christ.

8. The resurrection

8/ In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting separation from God.

9. The church
